 Just wondering. 

 I may have a nice project in mind for an Oct-Xeon Dell box. How would
Linux perform on such a beast ? The application can be threaded, and is
very CPU/RAM bound as opposed to I/O bound (though there is a fair amount
of Network I/O too, it'll only be a single 100mbit connection).

 In the Kernel source, it's supposed to "Scale well to 4 CPUs". If we are
talking about a fairly CPU bound job, should it matter if there are 8 ?
