yeah ACL's are a bit complicated. It's one of these lovely CS fud things
like micro-kernel. Lofty idealistic goal, but a mess when implemented in
real-life.
Unix group permissions at least force you to setup groups properly, rather
than get sloppy and tack various permissions here there and yon. (ob: can a
unix group be a member of a unix group?)
i know nothing about the programming side though.
