[ILUG] Network cards

[ILUG] Network cards

Hi,

Is there a way to see if a network card is working?

I have a small network at home - a laptop connected to a pc. When I ping the
pc from the laptop, I can see the activity on the PCMCIA card attached to
the laptop, but I'm not getting a response from the pc. Similarly, I don't
get a response from the laptop if I ping it from the PC.

So, I just wanted to know if there is a way to check if the nic is "alive".

Mike
