LDAP is light directory application protocol (AFAIR)
There are a number of tutorials on www.linuxworld.com and I've been
trying to get my head around it for ages here.. that's something I'd
love to see someone speak about at LAID..
I did get the server working and imported /etc/passwd so people could
use it to look up names through netscape mail and outlook express which
was very handy, but then I had something else to do..
