[ILUG] Talks at LAID

[ILUG] Talks at LAID

Donncha O Caoimh donncha.ocaoimh at tradesignals.com
Thu Aug 26 16:42:31 IST 1999

Following is a list of people who volunteered to speak at LAID.

John Looney Gnome
Ken Guest Something!
Thomas Bridge How the Internet Works, IP + DNS stuff.
Donncha O Caoimh	Dynamic Web Pages, databases and scripting, sticking it
all together.
Owen Kelly Linux Beginners, what to do.
Iain Swainson The Business Case for Linux
Alan Cox Something!
David ??? Linux Security
Kevin Lyda Free software and Businesses in special markets.
Kenn Humborg Using UCCP for a real email feed to your home
Niall Murphy Something, (networking, IPv6, Linux security - one of
hopefully!)

Ken Guest will speak if there's room for him, I haven't seen sight nor
sound of David ??? in quite a while (Cork guy.. should come to
meetings!) so dunno if he's still interested in doing something. Miall
Murphy mailed Kenn Humborg who forwarded his mail to me. I mailed Niall
a few mintes ago so I hope he replies soon.

Hmm.. 11 speakers, about 5 or so hours. We'll certainly have to go for
the 30 minute slot.
Kenns' idea of a "birds of a feather" discussion at the end seems like a
good one with so many "experts" around!

The whole thing of course will happen on Saturday November 6th, 1999.
With this many people there we'll probably have to start early, since
we'll have a few breaks too.

Audience expected will be you lot - LUG people as well as business guys,
educational people, and a guy we expect will wander in looking for the
toilet..

Must code web page for this, must code web page for this, must...

Donncha.
