I also bought a modem from Scan (one of their space-age-looking external 
v90s).  I think they realise that Irish customers wouldn't have much use 
for a BT modem, because the one I got had 2xRJ11 ports in the back and had 
a little note in the manual saying "international version".

Kudos to Scan for having a clue.
