[ILUG] Handy compiling tip...

[ILUG] Handy compiling tip...

kevin lyda kevin at suberic.net
Tue Aug 31 12:00:43 IST 1999

valen at tuatha.org spoke thusly:
>[stuff about rpm deleted]
> Cool no ?

to save people time:

no because {redhat sucks|redhat is the next microsoft|redhat *is*
microsoft|microsoft is redhat}. {.deb's|.tgz's|reel to reel tapes|my
custom built analytical machines} are better because they demonstrate
{how manly i am|the right way to do it|that redhat sucks}. rpm is
evil because it {is an "r" command and therefore insecure|doesn't use
standard unix tools|only uses standard unix tools|isn't a pronouncable
abbreviation|kind of references "revolutions per minute" which is
indicative of standard transmissions which are only used in less advanced
third world countries|uses -h to make it print little '#'s which we all
know should be -o for "octothorpe"}.

kevin

disclaimer: i own redhat stock and i've never submitted patches to the
fully gpl'ed rpm application because it's always worked just fine for me.
