.rhosts is bad. Even worse he was recommending using xhost <hostname> to
do X stuff remotely.If you want to run remote X then use xauth, and a shared
drive
makes that easier.
xon is just a shell script that run xterm if it's run with no arguments, and
isn't always
on every X machine.
