Well I don't know - is this list really that out of hand ?
If such a second list were to start up then I for one will be filtering both
lists in to the same folder.
1) Would could continually peel topics off the list and form new lists.
I think people on this list are VERY good at putting [OT] in subject lines -
which is great.
2) If you finally form the nirvana of Linux mailing list you would basically
end up with a list to which every question would be "read the FAQ".
Incidently is there a FAQ available ?
3) I think alot of people on the list are generally unix enthusiasts aswell
as Linux people, those people who are administating unix systems in general.
4) And part of the whole joy of Linux is the portability to all flavours of
unix.
5) a social list already excists.
6) The best solution would be to moderate the list ! But who wants to do
that !!
Althought i can see what your getting at.
I would vote _no_ to spliting the list again !!
Just my two cents worth.

Subject: [ILUG] New list?
It's been proposed that we have a new list on linux.ie - namely,
something for general geeky discussion, not specifically related either
to Linux, or to ILUG social thingies. The idea would then be that
"ilug at linux.ie" would be reserved for specific Linux-related issues,
while the new list holds general "this is interesting" type of things...
talk at linux.ie?
Thoughts?
