I don't know a huge amount about tapes, but if ufsdump is the same as the dump
command
on linux, then it will restore. But it will restore to a writable by linux
partition, so it
may make a mess of stuff if you want to restore a whole system, but if
you just want a file or two, it _should_ work <g>
Running dump from a BSD box to rmt on a sun box works, but I dunno if the sun
would be able
to read the tape.
(last time I tried dump and rmt on my machines here, I managed to overwrite the
rmt executable with
the dump data :()
