[ILUG] BIND 8.X on Red Hat

[ILUG] BIND 8.X on Red Hat

Dave Rynne dave at esat.net

) Folks,
)
) Anyone tried compiling BIND 8.2.1 on a Red Hat 6 system yet?
)
) It installed fine for me on 5.2, but today on an RH 6 box, it fails :o(
) All is fine up untill I do the final make, then it flops over and dies...
)
) In file included from addr.c:34:
) ../../port/linux/include/port_after.h:68: redefinition of `struct in6_addr'
) ../../port/linux/include/port_after.h:69: warning: no semicolon at end of struct or union
) ../../port/linux/include/port_after.h:69: parse error before `.'
) ../../port/linux/include/port_after.h:73: redefinition of `struct sockaddr_in6'
) make[2]: *** [addr.o] Error 1
) make[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/BIND/src/bin/addr'
) make[1]: *** [addr] Error 2
) make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/BIND/src/bin'
) make: *** [all] Error 2
)
) Anyone else had this problem, and is it specific to RH6?
)

Get the bind-8.2 SRPM, there's a patch included for building with
glibc21. It can probably be more or less applied directly to 8.2.1
as well (which I haven't looked at yet but is on my todo list).

) Cheers,
)
) Ronan

Dave (so where's that postcard then ??)
