Guys,
Any issues with mod_auth in Apache 1.3.6 on Red Hat 6.0?
Compiled PHP 3.0.8 + MySQL as per instructions; installed as the
apache module. Everything works great (PHP is *very* impressive and
might just wean me off AOLserver) except: neither .htaccess files
(copied verbatim from the docs when all else fails) nor their
equivalents in httpd.conf have any effect at all. Not a peep in the
error log; no dialog box in the browser. It's as if they weren't
even specified.
Suspiciously, attempting to recompile apache with mod_auth included
explicitly (which shouldn't be necessary) gives this error:
[davew at chronepsis apache_1.3.6]$ ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/apache --activate-module=src/modules/php3/libphp3.a
Configuring for Apache, Version 1.3.6
+ using installation path layout: Apache (config.layout)
+ activated php3 module (modules/php3/libphp3.a)
configure:Error: Module source already has to be below src/modules/ to be activated
Any ideas?
Cheers,
Dave
