Well, in 4dos I had a nice command called dd which listed directory
sorted by date first and paged it.
Obviously dd would conflict with a well known Unix command so I created
an alias..
"ls --sort=time|more"

What's so interesting about that? Well, I called the alias "lsd". 
Thankfully it hasn't had any hipnotic effects on me yet..
