[ILUG] Some advice please on Linux installation risks?

As already pointed out - it may be easiest to have a second drive with your
linux installation on it. In addition ...

You should consider that your PC's bios may provide you with an option to
boot of a different drive so you could potentially control the OS you boot
into via the BIOS - I ain't actually tried this theory out yet by the way !
:) 

Anyone ever tried this ?

What i am suggesting is that you plug you second drive in as your primary
then install linux THEN switch it to your secondary IDE controler and then
the trick is to switch you BIOS to boot of off you secondary or you promary
depending on which OS you want thus avoiding lilo'ing you nt/95/98 partition
- so the theory goes.
