Do other php3 files get displayed properly?
Have you got php3.ini in /usr/local/lib/?
put the following into t.php3 in your htdocs directory and see what
happens in your browser..
<?php
phpinfo();
?>
Is php loaded as an Apache module or as a cgi program (probably in
/usr/local/bin/)?
I'd write more but I'm typing one handed, lunch in the other hand!
