Actually, I contacted DELL a few days ago. Their software support is only for 30
days. After that, you are referred to the software company anyway. The hardware
is supported for upto three years. On the Gateway side, my niece bought a
gateway machine. It had only 1/4 of the advertised memory, the sound card was
missing and Windows95 had not been installed properly. To make matters worse,
her Contract number for the purchase actually belonged to a French company that
had ordered the PC then backed out of the purchase. This led to 2 hours of
hassle each and every time we called the support line. I have heard nothing but
bad reports about Gateway and our company will not buy from them, PERIOD! We DO
buy exclusively DELL PC's.
But that is just my 1.575128 Euro's worth.
Cheers,
John Gay
