I must agree, the coverage of Linux in this issue is excellent! I just got my
issue. I can't wait to install the new StarOffice. I think the Netscape is newer
than my current version as well. I am also considering trying the VMWare to try
out my scanner from Windows98. It isn't currently supported in Linux, but I am
hoping I can run it from VMWare, with Windows98 and try to catch the data as it
passes through the USB port to try to reverse-engineer the drivers for Linux.
I found the article about TransMeta quite intriguing, a processor that can run
any OS for any chip architecture? Does this mean that the kernel source will
shrink when you only need to build for one chip?
I'm still waiting for my Linux Answers magazine. I can't wait to see if it is as
good as they say. It will be nice to have a mag with regular Linux software on
cover CD!
