Yes, I have tried this aswell (and submitted a query regarding it).
What's more messing around with the Xaccess file seem to have
no effect. I have even tried telling it not to respond to broadcasts
to no effect.
I have noticed that when you do try and connect, xdm creates
a file
/var/xdm/hostname.auth
the client then times out and any further broadcast requests by the
client result in the server not responding. Still haven't got it to work
though.
