[ILUG] OT: hardware problem

Sorry to post this to the list..
But i have a small problem:

I recently bought several bits to upgrade my PC
includeing a new motherboard.. My problem is with the
floppy drive. It works on my other PCs but not with
the new motherboard, i might have connected the cable 
up wrong at first.

Every time i boot up the light turns on and stays on.
Could i have blown the floppy controller on the mother
board?
Any help would be appreciated.
