Your cable is the wrong way round. Try this

1. Make sure the red line of the cable is in pin 1 on the motherboard
2. The red line on the cable should be on the side next to the power
connector on the floppy

Doubtful, but you may well have fried the floppy drive. Do not run a
floppy in this state for any length of time at all.
