[ILUG] [OT] Somethingto do on Friday night in UCC

For those going to LAID, this is on in UCC:

----------------

 7.30pm, Friday 5 November 1999, Boole 4
Dr Jill Cornell Tarter, Director for Research, Search for Extra-Terrestrial
  Intelligence Institute (SETI)

Science Fact, Not Fiction

Professor Tarter holds a Doctorate in Astronomy and is the premier
spokesperson for the search for life on other planets. As an undergraduate
student, Professor Tarter was the first woman to hold the Proctor & Gamble
Scholarship in Engineering. She did pioneering work on the subject or brown
dwarf stars before joining the search for life on other planets. She was
the inspiration for Ellie Arroway, the heroine (played by Jodie Foster) of
the critically acclaimed movie Contact based on Carl Sagan's 1985 novel.

----------------

Also, I've a card that has a "Weekend for two, two nights, two breakfasts
& a dinner for £95" in a four star hotel in Cork (the Shandon), if anyone
is interested. I've one for myself (this is a spare). First person to ring
me on 086 8208986 gets it. That's also assuming there are still rooms left
in the Shandon.
