It is a Pascal based frontend for Borland's Interbase database.
Interbase 4.0 is actually free for Linux and is a very effective small
footprint db and is somewhat better than MySQL for some applications. As
long as you have an up to date version of Delphi (Other than the 2.0
version given away free on the magazines in the last eight months or so)
you can talk directly to Interbase running on Linux. I think you could
develop the stuff on a Windows box running Delphi/Interbase and then
backup the database and import it to the Interbase running on Linux. All
in all it is a very good low cost solution when compared to products
like Oracle.
I heard rumours that Borland were going to launch a Linux version of
Delphi but I did not follow them up yet. As for support, Borland has
some very good newsgroups with a lot of clueful people.
