It's not DMA. Recompile a 2.2.13 kernel with "Set multimode on by
default" or something like that. Could be a 2.3 kernel option. Can
anyone with access to a 2.3.x kernel confirm it ? In the help thing for
that option, it goes on about "if you see errors like..x..set this
option".
Come to think of it, you can set multimode to be on, with hdparm too.
Try that, see do the errors go away.
