[ILUG] Mouse Problems & Graphics Problems

Derek Lande dlande at eircom.net

Ok, well this is my first post to the list so hello everybody! Anyway I am
trying to get Caldera Open Linux 2.2 running on a machine of mine. It
installed fine and everything is grand except I cant get my mouse to work,
which basically means that the KDE environment is useless. I've tried a
number of different standard serial mice plugged into com1. No matter what
it just wont budge. The mouse works fine in windows btw... Anyway I have a
modem in com4 but that shouldnt be clashing I think, the other cards I have
include a voodoo, scsi, ethernet, sound and graphics. Any ideas as to what
could be up? Any help would be appreciated. I'm very adept in the
windows/dos environment but this is pretty much my first time going near
Linux (didn't use Unix either).

I have RH6.0 If that might help.

Oh I tried it on my other machine and my problem is that neither RH6.0 of
COL2.2 support my graphics card (well will only run in about 320*240 in 8bpp
colour. My card is a Creative 3D Blaster Banshee 16mb SGRAM AGP. Any
ideas?
I got linux drivers for it from creative but I dont have any idea how to
install them (-: Especially since kde is pretty much useless in 320*240.

Thanks in advance
Any ideas for either machine would be much appreciated.
Derek Lande
