[ILUG] Mouse Problems & Graphics Problems

Hi - Welcome ...

Your mouse problem:
Try linking /dev/mouse to /dev/ttyS0 (COM1 in DOS)
The commands are as follow:
ALT-CTRL-F1 (to go to a console)
	login as root
	ls -l /dev/mouse
you should see lrwxrwxrwx or similar in the leftmost column
the 'l' is the important bit here, if that says anything else, DON'T do the
next bits ...
If there's something like " -> /dev/psaux " we have the problem isolated ...
if it says ttyS0 instead of psaux this won't work ...
	rm /dev/mouse
	ln -s /dev/ttyS0 /dev/mouse
now you want to
	telinit 1
	(go to single user mode)
followed by
	telinit 5
	(full multi-user mode)
The mouse should work ...

(The Mode Numbers MAY be wrong, if you want you can 'shutdown -r now'
instead)

For your XServer problem ....
What exactly did you download from Creative, if it was an XServer
you'll need to replace the link to XF86_* with one to the new server and all
should be well (you'll probably have to edit the XF86Config file to suit
your needs.

Hope this helps,

Proinnsias
