I've set up an old laptop running Slackware/pppd/chat/diald as a
dialup gateway for the three Win95 machines at home. It works
great.
As part of my fiddling around with it I've written a perl script on the
gateway and a small VB program for the Win95 machines to report
the dialup link status to each Win95 user and give them direct
control over the link. The VB program behaviour (text, buttons,
popup, sound) can be controlled by the messages sent from the
perl script on the gateway, so the whole thing is very configurable.
Would anyone else be interested in a copy of these? If so, I'll
package it up with some minimal documentation and make it
available.
