Dell ships with Adaptec AHA based raid controllers now. Unsupported by linux
unfortunately. AFAIK the older AMI megaraid controllers are no longer
available.
I'm a bit biased obviously, but Linux will install effortlessly onto Compaq
SMARTarray based servers. Driver was written and is maintained by CPQ. Plus
you get a nifty 'ASR' thingy = serial console support. Ie you can remote
boot the server over a modem, watch linux boot and login via ttySx.
