hopefully LVM will mature and get into the kernel soon. Then maybe in the
future a newbie on encountering such a message would think "ah.. now if i
remember right linux has some really advanced disk stuff in it". They'd open
up their whizz-bang GNOME disk manager. Take some space from /usr and /home
and create a small /opt for SO.. without even having to close netscape! :)
