  the mailer (sendmail/qmail/exim/whatever) will find the MX record for
linux.ie
   So 'linux.ie' doesn't point to an IP, but rather to a record that
will point to
   an IP (or should)

  try: nslookup -q=mx linux.ie
  It'll give info on the 'MX' (mail) records of dns.
  for more info check out the dig command.
