>>Hi all,
>>I'm looking for concrete information with regards Esat's Surf No
>Limits deal (the one with free off-peak local calls).
>About three weeks ago, my Da went off to a local Esat agent (not Esat
>themselves) to sign up. They said "Okay, but you've got to convert
>one phone line to Esat". He said "Okay" and proceeded to fill out the
>form. A few hours ago, an engineer came out and fitted the box/router
>thingie.
You were DONE by the ESAT agent!!!!....Sounds like he/she is on commission
for sales. I have a Telecom/Eircom line and I'm using ESAT Surf nolimits
with no problems.
When you dial the number given to you by ESAT, Eircom switches you over to
another switch obviously run by ESAT. That takes about 60 seconds or so.
So I asked the engineer what comes next? I want to be sure
>that I'm connecting to Esat and getting free calls before spending too
>long online. He basically said he didn't know about the internet side
>of things and that I should contact Esat tech support. So I did, and
>they said I need to fill in another form to sign up for Surf No Limits
>and that I don't need a box/router thingie on the phone line to take
>advantage of the free calls.
If I was your Da, I'd be paying a visit to that ESAT agent again looking for
my money back!
Mike
