HELO there,
I guess this is a smidgeon off-topic, but I can't think of anywhere else to
post it...
I'm looking for someone to intall SSL on my server, ASAP. Having perused the
docs and asked around, I've decided that it's just too much to take in in a
short time - this server has to be completely secure, and it has to be that
way by January at the latest - and I don't have that time. So what I need is
someone who will install it with me, so I know what I'll be doing in future.
It would save a bit of hassle if that someone was in Cork, but if you're
elsewhere I'll pay your travelling expenses, and whatever you think is fair
for your time.
I would also prefer that the person knew a bit about SSL "properly", rather
than just someone who has installed it before - so you can advise me on the
best way to go, both with the product and how to implement it. I'm assuming
the OpenSSL & mod_ssl is the best approach, since the commercial products
seem to be based on that anyway. My server is in the States too, so if you
actually understand what I can and can't do with the export restrictions on
encryption, that would be handy. I'm not sure that anyone does though,
considering I got conflicting answers from Raven and Stronghold. John
McCormac might be able to clear that up sometime, if he's on this list, I'm
sure people would be interested.
The server is running RedHat 6.0/Apache 1.3.9/PHP 3.0.12/MySQL 3.22.27, and
it's chugging away contentedly, so I'd like it to be that way when we're
finished. You'll have root access of course, and this is why I would prefer
the person to be present when they're doing the installation - I don't want
anyone poking around my box, so to speak. :)
Any takers?
