Alright, after our meeting last night here's what we came up with for
the day:
The morning will be devoted the the marketing/business use of Linux (and
open source software in general). We'll have at most two speakers and a
panel discussion afterwards for the business people in the audience to
ask questions and discuss topics with the speakers.
A small break will follow and then a section for the beginners, or Joe
Bloggs who's heard of Linux in the magazines but doesn't know anything
about it. Owen will give a talk based on his BLG experiences, and we'll
have an install of a popular distribution. (probably RH6, or maybe 6.1)
by Dermot Conner. We'll have rehearsed this a few times to make sure
everything can go as smooth as possible.
After another break we'll have a section for the hackers and the techies
among us. Here we'll have my talk on dynamic web pages/db/perl/php
stuff, as well as Kenn Humburg and UUCP, and at least one more speaker.
Last but not least will be Alan Cox, giving us a chance to bombard him
with questions before retiring to a local pizza restaurant and onto a
pub.
Sound good? I'm preparing fliers to distribute to shops in Cork to warn
the public that LAID is coming up.
Donncha.
