[ILUG] Backspace irritation

[ILUG] Backspace irritation

dg p16926 at dna.ie

when I'm using kedit or some other text packages i can't use the backspace
key. when i do use it, it deletes what is in front of the word!! I've tried
looking around the documentation to no avail. It also happens in one of the
terminal programs but not in the generic kde terminal program. Is there a
global configuration file where i can set the keyboard map properly.

I'm sure this is an easy one to solve but its just so god damn irritating
when your trying to type fast and making loads of mistakes !!!

dg (RH5.2 & kde)
