[ILUG] linux web -> irc gateway

I was just wondering if it is possible to get a WEb -> irc gateway. That
is a program that will route packets from an irc server to a java chat
applet on a website. I am stuck behind a firewall and would like to use
irc. If i can find a gateway like this i have an outside computer i can
run it on, thus bouncing off my internal proxy using http to my external
proxy converting http to irc packets and vice versa.

Any ideas??
