pc1: 233mhz k6, 128mb, g200. 1280x1024x32. uw scsi.
runs 3x Xservers (one always logged in with GNOME+WM, one nearly always kde
1.1, one spare), SO5, netscape.. nfs server.
pc2: P133, 64MB, Matrox Mill2, 1024x768x32bpp, /usr over nfs. (10baseT).
single user machine. GNOME desktop, netscape, SO5, etc..
both machines are as fast as desktop bloat could allow them to be. the P133
used to be in the server machine, and i didn't notice much difference going
from 133 to 233.
spend your money on memory, graphics, disks... forget cpu unless you really
need it. And if you really need CPU, eg for 3D modelling, get an Alpha..
