I recently downloaded and install redhat 6.1
things started out well everything installed nicely but im running into
problems now.
I am a real newbie so these problems are easily fixed.

1.Samba is causing problems its running and i have edited /etc/smb.conf
to my workgroup and restarted samba but still seeing nothing no the rest of
my windows machines. ( i am able to telnet , ftp , ping ,etc from windows to
the linux box)
im getting this error to my root terminal

2. Im getting mails to my root account from cron deamon.
I have changed absolutely nothing from the defaults except for the workgroup
in samba by the way
this is the mail im getting

From: Cron Daemon <root at localhost.localdomain>
To: root at localhost.localdomain
Subject: Cron <root at server> run-parts /etc/cron.weekly
Read file error: ./rec.1 No such file or directory
3. What is the default pop3 server port... as i want to be able to check
mail from my widows mahcines using outlook express and i have tried but port
110 is closed.... i can telnet in and use the mail/pine programs ok.
