xntp is trying to connect to ntp. (hmm.....i havn't checked if the port mapper
is mapping it to anything....I'll have a look at that now)
We're also recompiling the source ....starting to suspect all options 
mightn't bave been compiled in........

hmm...why do we need a GPS.... well we need a good clock because the small
network is part of a system which count's photon arrivial times. The photon
counting device has microsecond resolution and we need microsecond resolution
wrt UTC for our data analysis. 
Cost? not sure....but I'm pretty sure if costs more that me monthly paycheque!
