I have the same problem with RH 6.0 on a compaq laptop, where it freezes on
mouse detection, even though it works perfectly on RH 5.2 .... hmmmm
Anyhow, on the install it happens consistantly and before the chance to
create a boot (or rescue) disk of any sort ....
IIRC it also completely locks out the keyboard ....
You might want to try using an external mouse for the install (serial
*should* work - and disable the internal one in the BIOS)....
Booting from CD is also a good idea (even only if it's faster and more
reliable !) ...
