[ILUG] Closing Connections

[ILUG] Closing Connections

Dave Burke dave at iol.ie
Wed Oct 13 11:24:27 IST 1999

Morning,

[dburke at hoth dburke]$ netstat -a |grep -ic CLOSE
3418

As you can see from the above command, at the moment I have 3418
connections at the close stage. This behavior (I think) is caused by a
patch I have applied into the kernel. Unfortunately removing this patch is
not an option and obhiously I don't want to have to reboot the server
every night to clear these connections.

Is there away to clear all these connections without having to reboot the
server? Or if I leave things the way they are will I run into any
problems?

Any advice appreciated,
Dave
