digital had software that did something like this. ie a window that was
shared amongst computers, or rather a shared viewport. To share an app you
just dragged it's window into the viewport, etc. They had it for DEC Unix
and NT 3.something, so you could share between unix and nt.
I'll try and dig up a link. I'm not sure if it was released publically, so
it's probably unavailable.. :(
