Robert,
I have managed to get my Cpi A400XT running under Linux, I used the
Mandrake distribution, - the only problems was the lack of sound, and
Mandrake falling in love with my docking station network card.
I changed over to SuSE 6.2, because the network stuff was better (picked up
my PCMCIA cards and ignored the 3com vortex in the docking station when
told to do so) and the Sony sound patch worked.
Try the SVGA server, with the laptops own display, if you have a monitor on
a docking station, unplug it from the docking station as it confuses both
distributions when trying to configure X. You can correct this afterwards.
there is a good link at
http://www.radcyberzine.com/linux/linux-dell.html
which is very helpful, the Sony sound patch works a treat, all the info is
on that page.
If you have any problems give me a call.
