[ILUG] remote X newbie Question...

Mark nvm1 at yahoo.com

Hi ....

I got a problem running X remotely , I mostly get a
permission denied message.

I am using a client named X-Win32.

I am using rexec to connect the path is as follows..

/usr/bin/x11r6/bin/xterm-color -ls -display $Display

This is a redhat 5.2 system, I am not trying to log in
as root or anything like that. I am logging in with a
customised user with a lot of permissions. I can
telnet in ok..

On the Linux box I am running the X S3 Server SVGA.

If I get this thing sorted Bull Ireland will put 10
developement Linux machines on the Network to Start.

Then who Knows....

PS: I can connect to my A.I.X firewall using XDMCP
broadcast sucessfully.

But the linux machine does not seem to be broadcasting
this service.

Please Help..

Cheers...

=====
