 See if you have any libc *compat* rpm's in your /mnt/cdrom/RedHat/RPMS
directory. If so, install those.

 On Saturday, I finally got a modem at home. I was stunned at how easy the
RedHat dial-up config tool is. It had me grinning for ages!
