Due to my sound card not being supported I have to use the OSS download.
Recently I have noted that any app. requiring sound refuses to run citing
the reason as 'device busy', although I can play CD's no problem.
At boot I can see that /lib/modulules/sound and midi attempt to load but
always fail.
I suspect I need to take /lib/modules out of the equation and get the
machine to accept OSS as the sound card driver. BTW I have the OSS soundon
command set in /etc/rc.d/rc.local. Is this causing a problem?
I do seem to remember that when loading OSS on SuSE on a previous install
that OSS required sound support to be removed.
Any help appreciated.
