[ILUG] LILO with redhat 6.1

Im trying to install redhat 6.1 with pain :(
I use a boot loader called boot magic which comes with partition magic 5
So i decided to put LILO on the first sector of my linux partition .
I decided this when it was installing.
But LILO did not install when i hit alt + fx ( cant remember which terminal
it was)
anwway i got an error there saying
that
hdc1 is not on the first disk.
and some error to do with cylinders
something like 1057 > 1023
and lilo did not install.

Its a 10 gig hard drive
is it possible that linux does not support ;arge hard drives?

And help  would be great thanks
