I'm aware of one guy who has cron jobs set up to create aliases
username000403 at example.com every day, and expire them after a
week or two. He uses these in usenet, changing his From: address
every day.
In general, munging is bad and the bounces it causes postmasters
can be worse than spam, but it's possible to do it carefully and
responsibly.
