[ILUG] Linux C resolver library..

Ok I'm pulling my hair out here.. 
Does anyone know where I can find documentation on this? I've been
reading the examples in DNS & Bind (Ed 3) book but they do not work under
linux. I've managed to get a lot of it working from reading the include
files. I don't have time for this however. 

When I try manning any of the functions I get

fopen: No such file or directory
Cannot open man page /usr/man/man3/resolver.3.gz
No manual entry for res_init

Has anyone used the Resolver libraries??
