]Eh, no
]S = Start script
]K = Kill script
]
]The scripts are normally run with a start/stop argument
Fair enough. I always thought there had to be a reason why they chose K. I
knew that S scripts were start scripts, and it kinda made sense to me that
the same scripts would be used to kill off the daemons that they started.
Eg.
If S90smb exists in rc3.d, there is no corresponding K90smb in that
directory. I just assume, wrongly, that the same script would be run to
kill it. I didn't even think that the scripts in rc6.d are run when
starting runlevel 6 (yes, I knew that the scripts in the various rc?.d
directories are run when entering the various runlevels - just didn't cop on
to runlevel 6 for some reason).
You learn something new everyday, as they say. Thanks for straightning me
out.
