I know this is regularly asked, but the answer obviously changes just as
regularly as the market moves. I need to buy a notebook shortly (this week
!) and Im looking for recommendations. Obviously it has to have Xfree
support for the video chipset. I also want to get something with more than
a 1 year warranty, due to previous horror stories with getting an out of
warranty notebook repaired. I dont necessarily need the fastest thing
going a 300/400 MHz box will be fine for me. Is this is such a FAQ maybe
we should have a special section on the web site as people buy new
notebooks they could report on how they are with Linux, and on how the
notebook actually feels, having had it for a while.
