Framemaker standard at about 1200 quid per licence IIRC, on it's own
won't do SGML for you, however if you wish to Have sgml functions you'll
have to pay an obscene ammount on top of that. Alas Framemaker+SGML is
to the best of my knowledge still only avaliable for windoze & Mac ( &
maybe Solaris) platforms as I have no recollection about seeing any
reference to porting anything beyond the std. framemaker to linux on
adobe's web-site.
From what I've gathered Frame+SGML seems to be the bees knees for any
SGML related stuff but the big down side is it's hurrendous price tag,
which will render it well beyond the range of your average joe luser &
give your beancounters instant heart attacks [0].
my opinion. Use Xemacs for it's nice _free_ buttons + the abiliy to do
everything else :)
